What it takes to be Great
Tom Peters blog has a post about Marcus Buckingham's book, Now, Discover Your Strengths. The comments seem to say that Fortune is incorrect (Fortune magazine (October 30, 2006) cover story, "What It Takes to Be Great."), when they say It all comes down to "practice and hard work." Tom Peters thinks that 99% of it is luck. And readers agree - pointing to the book, "Fooled By Randomness" by Nassim Nicholas Taleb. It may be that happiness in your career comes down to passion - you have to like what you do. That doesn't mean that you don't have to work hard at it though.
