Is VoIP Under Attack?

Regulations. USF fees. E-911. The "attack" on VoIP is because we are at the tipping point of the PSTN. (I think so anyway). Cable has taken over 10M consumer phone lines already. Vonage has 1.5M. TWC is going after business phone service now. Cablevision is poised to grab more share of lines in its region. VZ lost almost 8% of its POTS lines in the last year. At this rate, the PSTN will fail. Or worse, the Bells be deemed a non-dominant carrier, as Qwest was in Omaha (FCC WC Docket No. 04-223).
