Tate Nominated for FCC

FCC Commissioner Copps will get to serve out a 5-year FCC term expiring June 30, 2010. Bush also nominated Deborah Tate, a Republican from the Tenn. Regulatory Agency, for the rest of Powell's 5-year term expiring June 30, 2007. Abernathy's position remains to be filled. Her term expired in June 2004, and she must leave office when Congress adjourns for the year.
