Cloud backup provider, Intronis announced that CEO Kent Plunkett "has left the company to pursue new opportunities and remains an investor in the company." I love that line. It never means what it says. Jay Bolgatz, vice president of engineering and development, will act as interim CEO.
"Intronis was founded in 2003 and saw sales more than double under Plunkett, who joined the company as CEO in September 2010."
In May of 2012, Intronis landed a "$2.938-million round included funds from the company's existing investors as well as from its newest investor." [CRN] Plunkett is an investor and so is OpenView Venture Partners, a founding investor. "With the new round of funding, total investment in Intronis now stands at about $8 million."
Intronis works with 2900 MSP's. If you are one of them and need help marketing your cloud based backup solution, get the podcast for just $10.
