Why sell Asterisk instead of Mitac, Nortel, or Meridian? For one thing, it is usually a cheaper alternative to the "brand names". For another, it is a chance for you to lock in maintenance agreements, since Asterisk specialists are few and far between (but you can throw a rock at dealers of the brands). Become the expert; become an Asterisk Partner. Sell stuf. ("Some of Digium’s new partners include Empirix Inc., Fonality, Polycom Inc. and Switchvox.")
