Cisco buys Sipura

"Cisco Systems Inc., said on Tuesday it had agreed to buy Sipura Technology, a supplier of Internet telephone equipment aimed at consumers and small businesses, for $68 million in cash and stock options. Sipura, a private, two-year-old start-up made up of 12 engineers, offers technology that allows users to place high-quality phone calls over high-speed Internet links using low-cost Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) communications."
