2 Acquisitions Happened

Illinois-based Consolidated Communications is buying SureWest Communications for $341 million... Roseville, Calif.-based SureWest serves more than 130,000 residential subscribers and 15,700 commercial businesses in the greater Kansas City and Sacramento regions. Consolidated Communications (NASDAQ:CNSL) is a family of companies providing advanced communications services to both residential and business customers in Illinois, Texas and Pennsylvania.

"On a pro forma basis, for the twelve months ending September 30, 2011, the combined company would have had revenues of approximately $620 million. SureWest currently serves 130,000 residential subscribers and 15,700 commercial businesses in the greater Kansas City and Sacramento regions, which contain over 321,700 residential marketable homes to SureWest." The other item involves two of my clients. Bayou Internet of Monroe, LA, an ISP with VoIP and CLEC tendencies, has been acquired by Integrated Data Systems of New Orleans. Bayou started as a BBS and today serves about 2,500 customers in northern and central Louisiana with a mixed bag of tricks including resell CenturyTel, AT&T, fixed wireless, managed IT, VoIP and ISP services.
