Think Like a Microbrew

Think like a microbrew. It's a niche product. It isn't going to sell millions of cases. On average, each US microbrewery sells 5677 barrels of beer. That's about 313k six-packs. That's for ALL of the lines of beer that a microbrewery sells. Tampa Bay Brewing Company makes about 17 beers, including seasonal beers. Okay. What does this have to do with you? A lot.

You need to start thinking like a microbrew. Not everyone is going to buy your product. Most people purchase Bud or Miller Lite. Accept that - they have no taste. You don't need millions of customers. You need 1000, 2000 or 5000. Aim for building that Tribe.

Watch what the ILEC, CLEC, VoIP, Cloud and Big Box stores do. Not to copy them, but to get an idea about how to make a bundle of services that are high margin and that is unique in your market. Or at the very least to learn where to swim away from.

Seasonal beers in your business can be: Back to School computer checks or Holiday Video Chat lessons. Be Creative! Build a Tribe.
