Healthcare SAAS

Back in the day (1988-1993) I was a chemist. I worked for BIC, Oil of Olay, Bayer and Glaxo. Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) was just launching when I was at Bayer in New Haven. By the time, I finished with Glaxo in 1993, LIMS was a requirement for labs by the FDA. Now LIMS is available via SAAS. So if you have a pharmaceutical company or medical lab in your area, you might want to pitch SAAS for LIMS as well as email, etc.

On another healthcare note:

"For those of you who may not be aware, Practice Fusion is a free, SaaS based EHR service provider founded in 2005 by Mr. Howard, based out of San Francisco. In addition to the current services it provides in the areas of medical billing, scheduling and patient record management, the latest key updates to their service, according to Mr. Howard, include lab integration (Quest Diagnostics) and eprescribing capabilities."

Backed by SalesForce, it is an interesting SAAS play with all the stimulus dollars and healthcare reform spinning around DC. See article here.
