Sterling Commerce, a collaboration products provider and subsidiary of telecom giant AT&T Inc., on Monday said it agreed to acquire privately held Comergent Technologies Inc. for about $155 million in cash. Sterling Commerce plans to incorporate Comergent's e-business applications into an end-to-end order fulfillment solution for its customers.
This is the funny part: "The acquisition is expected to close shortly after the expiration or early termination of the regulatory antitrust waiting period, according to Sterling Commerce." Oh, wait! AT&T opens an office in Dubai, too.
