Telecom firm discontinues service in wake of FCC ruling

Another telecom obit: "San Antonio-based telecom provider Carrera Communications has discontinued telephone service to its customers due to a FCC decision that made it cost-prohibitive for the company to access phone lines owned by SBC Communications Inc." As the March deadline for UNE-P access looms (as well as the removal of DSL from the tariff and heavy-handed rulings on VOIP), the telecom obit page will be filled. (How many companies compete on price for local and long distance and broadband? How many VOIP providers can the market sustain? Certainly not the 1200+ out there). You need to have a plan, target a market and execute.
