Network Reliability Council to Hold Meeting

FCC PUBLIC NOTICE (DA 05- 2525) RELEASED: September 27, 2005 NETWORK RELIABILITY AND INTEROPERABILITY COUNCIL TO HOLD MEETING - The next meeting of the Network Reliability and Interoperability Council (“ Council”) will be held Wednesday, October 19, 2005, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the FCC Building, in the Commission Meeting Room at 445 12th Street, S. W., Washington, D. C. 20554. The Council originally was established by the FCC to bring together leaders of the telecommunications industry and telecommunications experts from academic, consumer and other organizations to explore and recommend measures that will enhance network reliability and security. During the meeting the Council will discuss potential recommendations in the areas of

  1. E911 implementation and evolution,
  2. network security,
  3. network reliability, and
  4. broadband.
  5. The Council will also review the status of various working groups.

Members of the general public may attend to observe the meeting. The public may submit written comments to Jeffery Goldthorp, the FCC's Designated Federal Officer for the Network Reliability and Interoperability Council .
