Home Builders Grow in Importance as a Channel for Technology Products

Parks Associates 2004 Builder Study shows,

"Home builders sold $11 billion worth of technology products in 2004 and expect sales to increase 10-12% in 2005. These findings show builders growing into a formidable channel for the distribution of advanced products such as home networking and multiroom audio systems, with 62% of all U.S. builders on the lookout for new products and capabilities that could differentiate them in the market."

MDU (Multi-Dwelling units), MTU (multi-tenant units), Condos, Hotels & Resorts, Office Buildings, new residential subdivisions, mixed-use urban projects - all of these are an opportunity for a service provider to offer internet, voice, TV, security, and controls.

Get to a meeting of a builders association to let them know that you are available to help them make money from these services. The biggest competition comes from Verizon Avenue, Telkonet, and the cable companies. You own the network - and the customer.
