3.5GHz spectrum

The world will be using 3.5GHz for WiMax, but not the US. 3.5GHz will be used by the WLAN community in the US. "That's because the FCC stipulated that only products using contention-based protocols could be used in the new spectrum, the WiMAX vendors say. WiMAX, however, uses a scheduled protocol." WiMax also uses 5GHZ (unlicensed) and 2.5 (licensed mainly by Nextel & Sprint).
