SaaS @ ISPCON - Add Revenue

Software as a Service (SaaS) is a great opportunity to add revenue to your space utilizing a platform from a partner company. SalesForce.net provides the model. But there are many other companies that can bring you ways to add services, value and stickiness. This will be one of the themes at ISPCON in Orlando on May 23-25, 2007. CRM and other apps from Delware.Net. Smart Online. Back-up solutions for DR/BC like from Evolved Software and CrashPlan.

In past years, companies like HyperOffice Zimbra, Pandora, and BlueTie, were at ISPCON trying to get ISP's to move to an ASP or VAR role (see ISP Planet story). But that seems to have fallen down. (However, Comcast just signed with Zimbra).

An interesting company to look at is Parker Software, which produces two products: "WhosOn," a real-time visitor monitoring and communication tool for web sites, and "Email2DB," a tool for integrating incoming emails with business processes. Probably a great add-on for premium hosting companies.

It is still ahead of it's time, but people want SAAS when they see it. So I expect it to keep growing quite a bit. All trends are pointing in this direction.
