Mergers, Consent Decrees and Tunney Act

FCC Cancels October Meeting on Proposed Merger - because those darned Dems - Copps and Adelstein - would like to put conditions in place. Oh, yeah! And Nuvox and XO don't want K-Martin meeting with AT&T in the middle of the night without disclosing the content. Since the DoJ gave a pass to the merger without a consent decree, there can be no judicial review under the Tunney Act. As Khali at Phone+ puts it: "Now it's up to the FCC to protect consumers." Ha! That is the funniest think I have heard in a while.
